TCU scored a big commitment Monday night, just two days before (the original) National Signing Day, with Jacoby Simpson’s announcement that he would be joining #CarterBoys18.
Glad to say that this is FINALLY over with. I’m heading to Fort Worth to be a Horned Frog #CarterBoys18 pic.twitter.com/TwKFJ8roaD

Simpson, a three star prospect out of Houston Aldine MacArthur, chose TCU over 14 other offers, including Texas Tech, Arkansas, Kansas State, and Louisville. He was committed to Arizona State last fall, as well.
Standing 6’0” and weighing 225 pounds, Simpson is a versatile player at inside linebacker, and was someone Gary Patterson and TCU made a strong late push on, offering him last month. Simpson took official visits to Texas Tech and A&M over the last few days, but an official visit to Funky Town and an in-home visit from Gary Patterson helped sway the talented prospect over to the Carter Boys.
The second linebacker in the class of 2018, joining already signed Ben Wilson out of Washington, is the seventh defensive commit of the class and the 21st overall. He is expected to sign Wednesday, along with CB Derius Davis and OLB Izaih Filikitonga. With Travin Howard graduated and Ty Summers, Arico Evans, and Alec Dunham entering their senior seasons, linebacker is a big position of need for TCU. They have addressed that need in 2018, signing three talented, athletic, and versatile players.
The Frogs have a couple of spots left to fill before Wednesday, and have several targets still on the board. We will have more information as we head to Wednesday and NSD Part II.
Check out Jacoby’s highlights and welcome him to the Frog Fam!
