Brodziansky, Williams earn Big 12 honors

The two seniors are once again All-Conference selection in their final year of collegiate basketball.

TCU seniors Kenrich Williams and Vladimir Brodziansky are going out in style in their final season as Horned Frogs, leading their team to a series of firsts throughout the year on their path to an NCAA Tournament berth. For their efforts, both have been name All-Big 12 Conference selections Sunday, with Williams a second team selection and Brodziansky a third. It is the second selection for both players.

Williams, who was a preseason Honorable Mention, averaged 12.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game, and put up 12 double-doubles on the year. He was the Emerald Coast Classic MOP, and a key cog in helping the Frogs win the most games and most conference games in their history since joining the Big 12.

Brodziansky, a second team selection a season ago, averaged 15.2 points per game, scoring in double digits in 27 of the 31 games played on 57.7% shooting. Vlad is also a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award.

Conference Player of the Year went to Kansas’ Devonte’ Graham, and the Jayhawks also had the Newcomer of the Year in Malik Newman. Jevon Carter won his second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year award and Trae Young took home Freshman of the Year honors. The Coach of the Year vote was split, and thus shared by Texas Tech’s Chris Beard and Kansas’ Bill Self.
