The Frogs landed a huge commitment on Saturday evening, as 3-star defensive tackle Karter Johnson pledged to TCU.

Johnson, from Pickerington, Ohio, held offers from Michigan State, Minnesota, Indiana, Nebraska, and West Virginia, among others. The Frogs convinced the 6-foot-3, 302 pound defensive tackle to leave Big 10 country and head to Texas following a visit to TCU over the weekend.

The Frogs have continued to target big bodies for the interior of their defensive line, and Johnson absolutely fits that mold. Now, he’ll work alongside guys like Ross Blacklock, Corey Bethley, Joe Broadnax, and George Ellis III.

Johnson is the ninth commit for TCU’s 2019 class, and the first that addresses future needs along the defensive line. The Frogs are looking for multiple defensive linemen in this class, and have a few other targets on their board, but Johnson is a fantastic addition to the #CarterBoys19.
