While many of us were asleep during the early hours this morning, former TCU Tennis star Cam Norrie was busy picking up the biggest victory of his professional career so far. Norrie, who is currently playing in the Lyon Open in France, took down the No. 10 ranked player in the world, John Isner, 7-6 (7-1), 6-4.

This was not Norrie’s first meeting with Isner apparently, as he shared this gem from seven years ago after his victory.

The victory is significant for a few different reasons. First, it is the highest-ranked player that Cam has taken down and it has moved him into his first semifinal on the ATP World Tour, tennis’ highest tour. In addition, picking up the win today has moved the former Frog well into the top 100 in the world and has him sitting at No. 85 in the live ATP ranking.
Lastly, the timing of this victory is big for Norrie, who is preparing for the French Open which starts Sunday. He should be full of confidence and momentum heading into the Grand Slam event.
He will face French player Gilles Simon, the No. 75 ranked player in the world, in the semifinals.
