With TCU Baseball’s season over, it is time to once again start looking toward Horned Frogs football (if you haven’t been already). Thanks to TCU Football and the Big 12, we now know the start times and TV networks for the first three weeks as well as a Thursday night game with Texas Tech in October.
The Frogs will open their season at the Carter against the Southern Jaguars at 11:00am CT on September 1st and the game will be broadcast by FOX Sports. Southern was 7-4 overall last season but was dominated in both of their FBS matchups, losing at Southern Miss 45-0 and at UTSA 51-17.

The following week, TCU will head to Dallas on Friday, September 7th and will take on the SMU Mustangs at 7:00pm CT in a nationally-televised matchup on ESPN2. The Battle for the Iron Skillet will be the first home game for the Mustangs’ new head coach, Sonny Dykes, who served as an offensive analyst for the Frogs last season.

As seen in the tweet regarding the kickoff time for Southern, the Frogs also announced that this season’s matchup with Texas Tech on Thursday, October 11th, will begin at 6:30pm CT and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
These announcements bring the total number of kickoff times that we know to four, as the matchup with Ohio State (7:00pm CT on September 15th on ABC) was already released.
