The Horned Frogs received just one first-place vote in the poll. The Sooners, who were voted to emerge as Big 12 Champions for the fourth consecutive season, received 46 of the 52 first-place votes. West Virginia and Kansas State, the latter of which was voted to finish 6th, each received two first-place votes. Texas joined TCU at just a single vote.
TCU is coming off an 11-3 finish overall to the 2017 campaign. The Horned Frogs were voted 5th in the preseason poll last July before ultimately finishing as the league’s runner-up behind Oklahoma.
TCU begins the 2018 season with a home game vs. Southern on Saturday, Sept. 1 at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs begin Big 12 play when they face Texas on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Darrell K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin.
