TCU’s impressive 2019 haul continued to improve on Thursday, with the addition of Newton running back Darwin Barlow to the fold.

Barlow, the No. 3 running back in the state of Texas, and the No. 53 overall player in Texas, pledged to the Frogs, helping TCU complete the sweep of what has become known as the “Newton 3.” Barlow joins teammates Tamauzia Brown and Josh Foster in pledging to the Frogs, and his addition gives TCU one of the best running back commit tandems in the country.
TCU already received a commitment from the No. 1 running back in the state of Texas, Daimarqua Foster, and both backs are rated as Top 30 backs in the class of 2019. With Barlow and Foster, TCU seems set to recreate the thunder and lightning approach that has worked so well for them in the past. It’s an approach that will hopefully work for the Frogs in 2018 as well, with Darius Anderson and Sewo Olonilua.
Barlow stands at 5-11, 195, and he has the speed to get to the edge, the strength to run up the middle, and the ability to catch passes out of the backfield. He committed to TCU over Baylor, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Minnesota and several others.
The Frogs now have 18 commits for the 2019 class, and the class jumps back into the Top 30.
