While one TCU football team prepares for a major weekend showdown in Arlington, the other undefeated and incredibly impressive TCU football team faces their toughest weekend yet.

TCU Women’s Soccer gets things started tonight with what might be their toughest match of the season. The Horned Frogs, who are 6-0-1 on the season, will take on the Santa Clara Broncos, ranked #7 nationally, tonight in California. Santa Clara moved up into the top 10 this past weekend by picking up home wins over then-ranked #2 North Carolina and Notre Dame. The Broncos enter the game 6-1, with their only loss coming to Texas A&M, who is 8-0 and ranked #4 nationally.

As if one major non-conference opponent wasn’t enough, TCU will then return home to face the Butler Bulldogs, ranked #23 nationally, on Sunday. Butler is also 6-1 this season, with their only loss being a 1-0 defeat at Kansas, who is currently ranked #18 nationally. In one of their biggest matches so far this season, the Bulldogs rolled then-ranked #20 Notre Dame 4-1 at home.

The Frogs are off to one of the best starts in team history and have done so by being rock solid at the defensive end. TCU is tied for 2nd nationally with 6 shutouts through their 7 games so far this season. A major key for the Frogs this season has been controlling the ball - on average, they are outshooting their opponents 19.6 to 6.4. Between dominating possession and always having a capable goalkeeper in net (Katie Lund or Emily Alvarado), TCU should continue their strong start even as the schedule gets tougher.

Should the Frogs survive this weekend and still be undefeated, they will surely crack next week’s Top 25. They are currently receiving votes in the poll and are sitting at #32.

Tonight’s game at Santa Clara kicks off at 9:30pm CT while Sunday’s match with Butler will kick off at 1:00pm CT. Live stats and links to watch can be found here.

This weekend will feature the final non-conference matches of the season for TCU as they open Big 12 play with Iowa State at home next Friday.
