JT’s Jungle: Redeem Team

NCAA Football: Kansas State at West Virginia Ben Queen-USA TODAY Sports

4-1 Baby! Candidly, I must say I am most proud of my pick of Brown to cover over Harvard. It was only a matter of time, and I would like to personally congratulate myself on a job well done. In the words of the prophet-saint Master P, you gotta make em’ say ugh ma na na na. Well, now that I have officially regained the trust of everyone, let’s make some picks, and this time you won’t have to fade me…

All game lines are taken Thursday at 10:45 am CST

Game One: #12 West Virginia (3-0) at #25 Texas Tech (3-1)

West Virginia opens up as 4 point favorites. The game is in Lubbock, which is always a tough environment, what with the tortillas and all. Texas Tech is riding high from beating Oklahoma State and West Virginia is coming off a dominating effort against Kansas State.

MY PICK: West Virginia

MY REASON: WIll Grier. The dude has been really good all season, and while Tech looked like they finally found form, I think Will Grier will give the Mountaineers a touchdown lead to win this one.

Game Two: Virginia Tech (2-1) at #22 Duke (4-0)

Duke is 4.5 point favorite against the Hokies. Virginia Tech is coming off of an embarrassing, demoralizing, deflating (insert adjective here) loss against Old Dominion (OLD DOMINION BACK). The Hokies looked very strong in their opening game against a not very good Florida State team, but have not done themselves any favors recently. I have put our losses in comparison to say “at least we didn’t lose to Old Dominion.

MY PICK: Virginia Tech

MY REASON: I expect the the Hokies to find form once again to beat a duke team that has looked pretty solid so far. Plus, even if they don’t hopefully they can cover.

Game Three: #4 Ohio State (4-0) at #9 Penn State (4-0)

Ohio State is 4 point favorite in this game. This feels like a joke line, though I said that last week about TCU so that’s fun. Ohio State has looked really strong all season, and Penn State hasn’t played anyone, and had a week 1 scare against Appalachian State.

MY PICK: Buckeyes

MY REASON: Just feels right. Idk.

Game Four: Iowa State (1-2) at TCU (2-2)

TCU opens up as a 10.5 point favorite. TCU is on a 2-game losing streak, and last year Iowa State gave TCU the fights. Iowa State has lost to Iowa and played semi-competitively against Oklahoma earlier this season.

MY PICK: Frogs, I guess.

MY REASON: What kind of article would this be if I didn’t pick the Frogs. I am still hurt from the giant L they look last week, especially when it had all the appearances of a Frog victory, and more importantly, a Frog cover. And then the 3rd quarter happened. My apologies to everyone who feels like they’re reliving it right now. Anyway, time to ride or die.

BONUS BET OF THE WEEK: STANFORD ON THE MONEY LINE BECAUSE THE GOOD TIMES ARE ROLLING

SECOND BONUS BET OF THE WEEK: BET THE HOGS (+21.5) TO COVER AGAINST A&M BECAUSE LET’S BURN IT ALL DOWN.

You’re welcome in advance.
