3 takeaways from TCU’s 98-67 win over West Virginia | Sports Day DFW

The win was a record for TCU. It was the largest margin of victory in conference play since joining the Big 12.

TCU’s 31-point margin of victory set a new record as the largest in program history in Big 12 play. The team’s previous all-time best came at home against Iowa Sate last January, a game in which the Horned Frogs prevailed by 23 points.

‘It’s an emotional time.’ TCU’s Dixon explains why Jaylen Fisher hasn’t been with team | The Star-Telegram

Jaylen Fisher has been off the court rehabbing a knee injury. It was drained again a few days ago, according to Dixon, but is still incredibly swollen. Dixon mentioned after Tuesday’s win against West Virginia, that he hasn’t seen this many injuries to one team before (when you consider Fisher, Lat Mayen, Angus McWilliam, and Yuat Alok).

“It’s hard. You practice your whole life for these opportunities and you just see it. I’ve seen it before, but I’ve never seen it to this extent. You’ve got to understand how much time and effort they put into it, and how important it is. It’s taken away from you and it’s hard. You just feel for them.”

Why TCU doesn’t expect to bolster post depth by playing Russell Barlow | The Star-Telegram

Despite losing Yuat Alok and Angus McWilliam -both to injuries first, then to transfers - Jamie Dixon doesn’t think the minutes are available down low to burn Barlow’s redshirt.

“It’s something we’ve talked about, it’s something we’ve discussed,” Dixon said. “I just don’t see that he’s going to get the minutes. I don’t know that we can get the minutes there for him to justify it.”

Former Kansas State QB Alex Delton says he’s transferring to TCU | ESPN

Delton brings experience, leadership, and intelligence to the TCU QB room.

Delton, a running quarterback, put up 734 yards on the ground and 1,191 through the air as a part-time starter for the Wildcats over the past two seasons. Skylar Thompson eventually won the starting job away from Delton early in the 2018 season.

Alex Delton probably won’t be the starter, but he’ll add important depth to a position that is a big question mark going into 2019.

Graduate transfer Alex Delton will join the Horned Frogs after four years at Kansas State where he started six games over four seasons. Delton will not have to sit out a year after transferring because he has already graduated from Kansas State.
