Former TCU Tennis great Cameron Norrie continues to assert himself as an international star, moving up the ATP Tour rankings steadily since going pro in 2017. Currently the world’s 91st ranked player, Norrie has a few impressive skins on the wall - and added three more this week.
Fresh off of his upset of 15th ranked Stefanos Tsitsipas as part of the Hopman Cup, an annual tournament played in Perth that features two singles matches and a mixed-doubles contest, Cam took on a duo of highly-ranked opponents in the finale. Norrie was paired with fellow Brit Katie Boulter for a pair of matches - first against Roger Federer and Belinda Bencic, both of Switzerland, and lastly facing off with Americans Serena Williams and Frances Tiafoe.
Norrie, who upended the 40th ranked Tiafoe in addition to his win over Tsitsipas, helped lead a stirring comeback over the duo, as he and Boutler fought back to win 3-4 (2-5) 4-3 (5-4) 4-1 Wednesday. Next up for the former Frog is the Australian Open, an event he will be riding high into.
Congrats to Norrie on a great week!
