TCU Football opens as a 2.5 point favorite over Texas

Vegas... wyd?

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Kansas State Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

For some reason, TCU Football, losers of two straight road games, has opened as a near-field goal favorite over the two loss Longhorns ahead of next week’s matchup in Fort Worth.

(according to Circa Sports, among others)

TCU lost to Kansas State in Manhattan Saturday, dropping their season record to 3-3. The Longhorns escaped Kansas Saturday night in Austin, needing a field goal as time expired to secure a 50-48 victory over the 2-5 Jayhawks.

Despite struggling against KU, this is still a pretty crazy line. The Frogs have looked frankly bad in their last two losses on the road, while Texas has shown they can put up points - even if the defense is vulnerable. TCU has historically been good at home in Big 12 play, and has beat the Longhorns in four of their last five matchups, but... still... seems pretty crazy to have the Horned Frogs favored.

We will find out on Saturday, when the Horns and Horned Frogs battle in Fort Worth at 2:30pm.
