The Horned Frogs got some good news on Monday morning, with 4-star offensive lineman Garrett Hayes pledging to TCU over some serious competition.

Hayes, the #10 offensive tackle in the nation for the 2020 recruiting cycle, is the #12 player in Texas and a Top 100 player in the country according to 247 Sports Composite Rankings. Those numbers make him the highest rated recruit in TCU’s class according.

Standing at 6’5”, 290 pounds, Hayes seems like a candidate for early playing time, especially when you consider that TCU is losing three tackles (Lucas Niang, Anthony McKinney, David Bolisomi) to graduation after this season.

Hayes holds offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Baylor, LSU, Florida State, Oregon, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, and quite a few others. He was considered to be an Arkansas lean prior to the Razorbacks firing Chad Morris.

Meanwhile, TCU is loading up on offensive linemen in the 2020 class. Hayes is the fifth offensive linemen in this class, joining Michael Nichols, Altrique Barlow, Tyler Bailey, and Brandon Coleman.

The Frogs’ class is currently rated #40 in the country and #5 in the Big 12 for this cycle, and currently has 13 commits. TCU is expected to take a smaller class this time around, but still has room for several more guys.

Of course, with transfer season coming up soon, we’ll see how the Frogs manage their scholarships, with the potential for some college guys to make a move.
