Michael Nichols isn’t the biggest name in TCU’s 2020 class; the three star signee out of Justin, TX has flown under the radar a bit throughout his high school career.
But with his signing Wednesday, the 6’4”, 255 pound tackle has a chance to be the latest in a long line of prospects to go from unknown to household names during the course of their time at TCU.

Nichols held just five offers when he chose the Frogs, and the only Power Five school to extend him an opportunity was Baylor. He committed way back in June, just two weeks after TCU came calling. Nichols has a great frame with room to add considerable good weight, and with a 7’ wingspan, he has the length to be effective as a pass and run blocker at the next level.
A humble, thoughtful young man, Nichols will need some time to develop, as his raw talent rounds into form. He’s not much for the game of recruiting, and was never in danger of changing his mind once he made it, instead thankful for the opportunity to play at the next level for a program the caliber of the Frogs. “It’s always surprising to me because a couple of months ago I didn’t expect any of this to happen,” he said. “I never thought a big school like TCU would offer. I never thought I would be able to go to a school like that.”
A three star prospect, Nichols is a top 60 player in the state and a player who has seen his profile rise over the course of the year. You can read more about him here.
Welcome to the Frog Fam, Mike!
