TCU has lost another coach on the offensive side of the ball, as offensive line coach Chris Thomsen is headed to Florida State.
Thomsen worked with first year Seminole’s head coach Mike Norvell at Arizona State, and Norvell tried to recruit him to Memphis before Thomsen wound up at TCU.
Thomsen served as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach at Arizona State from 2013-2016, prior to which he was the offensive line coach at Texas Tech for a season.
Now Thomsen and Norvell are reconnected in Tallahassee. Meanwhile, TCU has seen Curtis Luper and Chris Thomsen walk out the door in the span of less than a day, and now has to replace two coaches and top recruiters.
Thomsen was responsible for bringing the highest rated offensive lineman recruit to TCU just this fall. Garrett Hayes is the #10 offensive tackle in this class, signing his NLI on Wednesday.
Gary Patterson and Sonny Cumbie have some serious work to do moving forward, to replace Luper and Thomsen, and there will probably be a slew of names rumored to replace both guys.
