What a weekend for TCU Baseball, who defeated Texas in two out of three at Lupton Stadium over the weekend to open up Big 12 play.
The trio of games between the two conference rivals had everything baseball fans could want, including:
But the best part of the weekend may have been something that happened before the games ever started, and led to the now infamous line “because it’s our stadium.”

A group of Texas Exes tried to reserve one of the patios at Lupton for an Alumni event Friday night - something that made Frog fans none too happy. They voiced their displeasure to TCU Athletic Director Jeremiah Donati on twitter:
@JDonati_TCU can’t stand people who constantly tweet complaints to you, so I’m treading lightly here, but was the porch spot intentionally sold to them? And if so... why??? pic.twitter.com/zAOKJ1wH9W

ADJD, who continues to make a name for himself now 15+ months of the job is about that action, boss. Donati and TCU Tickets cancelled the Texas order, ensuring that purple people would get priority for some of the best seating in the stadium. It went over with Longhorn fans about how you would expect, and they too had words for the Horned Frogs’ AD. He forever earned the respect and love of the Frog Fam with his response:
Because it’s our stadium. https://t.co/R6O7Q2wIdA
