TCU Football: Gary Patterson is the Big 12’s Best Coach | Athlon Sports

This is kind of amazing... considering all Lincoln Riley has done in his two years, for GP to be considered the top coach in the conference is a testament to the longevity of his success in Fort Worth.

The Horned Frogs are 167-63 overall since Patterson took over as head coach in the 2000 Mobile Alabama Bowl. During that span, the Horned Frogs have recorded 11 seasons of double-digit victories, including a perfect 13-0 campaign in 2010. TCU also finished 12-1 and just outside the top four for a bid to the CFB Playoff in 2014. The Horned Frogs have settled into the Big 12 with three winning marks in league play over the last five years. In each of those three seasons, TCU ranked as a top-10 team in the final Associated Press poll.

Colts feel Ben Banogu’s best starting point is at DE | Colts Wire

Banogu was expected to be a linebacker at the next level, but he’s a natural born pass rusher, and the Colts are finding that out.

“We thought that moving him now to play end is probably the best starting point for him relative to who he is, what he brings to the table and where can he impact our defense the most at the earliest fashion or the earliest way,” defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus said during minicamp.

The Colts laud Banogu’s versatility. The fact that he’s athletic enough to play both defensive end and linebacker is a major plus in their eyes. Finding that spot for him to build a foundation, though, is what needs to be the focus at this point early in his career.
