FanPulse Shooty-Hoops: Week 7 Edition

Frog fans are feeling pretty good about their team these days.

TCU is off to their best-ever start in Big 12 play, beating Iowa State at home and Kansas State on the road, to earn their first 2-0 league mark. Though the games haven’t been pretty (it took OT to knock off the Cyclones and a Kevin Samuel finger tip to crush the Cats), fans seem to feel that the strong start is already a sign of an over-achieving finish — the Frogs were picked to finish last in the league, after all.

After losing an entire recruiting class (wherefore art though, class of 2018?) and a tenth place preseason picking, Jamie Dixon and co have righted the ship as the decade turns and seemed primed to stay on or near the NCAA bubble into March. The rise of freshmen PJ Fuller and Francisco Farabello, coupled with the hot-shooting of Jaire Grayer and the scoring punch of Edric Dennis, has served returning stars Desmond Bane, RJ Nembhard, and Kevin Samuel well. Though there’s still a lack of consistency, and well, let’s not talking about the free throws — this team has a chance to make some noise in 2020.

Around the rest of the conference, Kansas and Baylor are getting plenty of votes as the country’s best team, with the Jayhawks taking nearly 10% and the Bears inching toward three — though they are just a fluky loss away from a likely top ranking. Gonzaga and Duke are fighting for the fan vote at #1.

Make sure to keep voting week in and week out and have your voice heard!
