The last seven days have been really bad for the Horned Frogs, who lost a fourth starter when it was announced before the Frogs’ game at Baylor that senior defensive tackle Corey Bethley is done for the year.
JUST IN: TCU football’s active leader in starts will not play today at Baylorhttps://t.co/tkZND9b1A5
— Drew Davison (@drewdavison) October 31, 2020
After Drew broke the news, TCU sideline reporter Landry Burdine confirmed it and added that Bethley was done for the year with an undisclosed knee injury.
Bethley had started 29 consecutive games for the Horned Frogs, and was the active leader in both starts (29) and games played (43). He leads the team in all-time sacks with 9.5, and was an All-Big 12 Honorable mention the last two seasons in addition to being a Freshman All-American. He has six tackles, including two TFLS and a sack for the Frogs so far this season.
Bethley was considered a late round prospect in last year’s NFL Draft, but returned to TCU for his senior season. Due to COVID, he will have the option of taking an extra year of eligibility or heading to the Draft this spring.
