Covington chose TCU over Baylor, Miami, Texas Tech, Mississippi State, Houston, and others.
Rated as a 3-star recruit by 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings, Covington is the No. 93 recruit in Texas and the No. 53 cornerback overall in the 2021 class. He’s the first defensive back to commit to TCU’s 2021 class that has incredible depth at corner right now, but will see several key contributors graduate in the next two years.
Beyond playing corner, Covington also runs track for Lake Ridge, and he holds a 10.84 100-meter time from earlier this year.
Covington is listed at 5’11”, 180 pounds, which is pretty much the exact mold for a TCU cornerback, while his quick feet and great speed make him a fantastic candidate to take on cornerback responsibilities in Gary Patterson’s defense.
Welcome to the Frog Fam, Marvin!
