NFL Draft: Ross Blacklock Would Give The Green Bay Packers’ Defensive Line A Gigantic Lift | Forbes
Could Ross join his former Frog teammate on the Frozen Tundra?
Blacklock, on what teams are getting with him: “Teams and fans are going to get a leader. I’m a natural-born leader as a player. It’s something that just grew a part of me as an athlete. A guy that’s going to be accountable at all times, (who) holds people to high standards, like myself. I want people to hold me to a high standard just like I will hold them to a higher standard as well. A guy who just wants to be great. I see people in the NFL, some of the greatest athletes in the world, and I just want to be in the same topic. I don’t do it for money. Of course you get paid a lot of money, but I just do it for the passion of football.”
TCU coach Gary Patterson on Blacklock: “Athletic ability and size wise he’s obviously one of the best we’ve had around here.”

Patterson is on that list... but let’s see if that changes in 2021/2022...
Though Gary Patterson has coached one program in his 20 years, he’s had an interesting career. The TCU Horned Frogs have played in four different conferences during Patterson’s tenure. They played their last game in the WAC the first game Patterson coached. He coached the Mobile Alabama Bowl when Dennis Franchione left to coach the Alabama Crimson Tide.
From the WAC, the Frogs went to Conference USA, then the Mountain West and are currently in the Big 12. Not only has Patterson steadied the ship as the Frogs conference hopped, but he’s also one of the few coaches to successfully guide a program from the Group of Five to the Power Five.
TCU makes top four for D’Marion Alexander | Horned Frog Blitz
The defensive stud would be a great fit with the Frogs.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder earned an offer from TCU last summer after an impressive mini-camp performance. Although he’s rated as the No. 52 outside linebacker prospect in the nation according to the 247Sports composite, the Frogs are recruiting him as a defensive end.
Back in January, Alexander told HornedFrogBlitz that TCU was in prime position to land his services.
“They’re up there, they’re probably the top now,” Alexander told HFB from the Next Level Athlete Camp. “We’ve been talking a lot more and I’m getting to know the coaches a lot more.”
TCU was the second program to offer Alexander; Baylor was the first. Alexander has built a strong relationship with cornerbacks coach Jeremy Modkins.
“He’s like family and they say family talks a lot and we talk all the time,” he told HFB.
Best safety duo in the nation? A look at where Paris Ford and Damar Hamlin stack up | Pittsburgh Post Gazette
I think we know who number one is.
Moehrig (No. 5 overall among DBs) and Washington (No. 9) were PFF’s highest-ranked safeties, suggesting the site sees TCU’s duo as college football’s best back-end tandem. Oklahoma State’s Harvell-Peel (No. 13) and Tre Sterling (No. 28) were the only other duo included.
