Yeah, I’m Gonna Have To Call You Back

Wondering what’s going on with the Olympics?

Politico.com

The Olympics has been consistently hosted since 1896. From that time to now, the games have only ever been altered 3 times, until now. The 3 previous time were cancellations all due to war- World war I (1916) and twice in World War II (1940, 1944). The alterations show how seriously this should be taken, even when 12 Israeli hostages were taken at the Munich games, the competition continued. While they have been cancelled, never postponed. Sunday morning it was announced that the 2020 Tokyo Olympics would be postponed. Their original start date was July 24, but they have now been moved to July 23 in the summer of 2021. Many athletes and countries have taken to twitter to show their gratitude, appreciation, and excitement for the upcoming games.

While I think this decision was a great one, do you think it could’ve been a little too premature? President Trump just recently extended the quarantine time line, and it only extends through April.
