Making history at the NFL draft for all of the right (and wrong) reasons | The Star-Telegram

Welp.

There is a plausible chance TCU will have three players picked in the first round of the draft Thursday night — receiver Jalen Reagor, cornerback Jeff Gladney and defensive tackle Ross Blacklock.

Should it occur it would be a high for the program. And, at the same time, it would create the oddest of lows.

Seldom does a team produce three first-round picks in the same year. And almost never has a team that has produced three first-rounders finds itself coming off a season in which it has missed a bowl game, complete with a losing record.

All of the below illustrates that TCU can have NFL talent at vital positions, and it doesn’t get a bowl bid if the quarterback is all over the place.

Super Bowl MVP Mahomes reminds TCU star to savor every moment. Future teammates? | The Star-Telegram

Mahomes to Reagor? Sign. Me. Up.

Reagor is projected as a game-changing talent at the next level and, hey, may end up being teammates with Mahomes in KC. A source said the Chiefs and Reagor have met and there is “strong interest.”

Of course, several teams have “strong interest” in acquiring players with Reagor’s skill set. He’s a home run threat with the ball in his hands.

Reagor closed his college career with 2,248 yards receiving, 22 touchdowns and 148 receptions, highlighted by a 1,000-yard season as a sophomore in 2018. Reagor also rushed for 324 yards and two TDs in his career.

His 22 career receiving TD receptions are tied for second-most in TCU history, trailing only Josh Doctson (29).

Tennis:

Griego heads to TCU after playing tennis at NDP | Scottsdale Independent

Get to know a future Frog.

What comes next for you after high school? I will be attending Texas Christian University in the fall, and I hope to continue my tennis career playing club at TCU. I will be majoring in biochemistry and on a track to become a physicians assistant. I am not sure what field of medicine I will end up in, but I want to focus on patient care wherever I go.

What advice would you give to the underclassmen? While this sounds like a cliche, I would say to cherish every moment. Don’t take the wins, the losses or anything in high school for granted. I never expected high school to end so soon for me and I wish I could go back take it all in just one last time. You never know what could happen in high school, so take in every moment like it’s the last you’re going to get.
