Another Frog is off the board! Vernon Scott has been taken in the 7th round by the Green Bay Packers. Scott is the fifth Horned Frog to be taken in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Round 7, No. 236 overall: @packers select @TCUFootball S Vernon Scott.#NFLDraft
— NFL Draft (@NFLDraft) April 25, 2020
Scott is a prototypical TCU safety, standing at 6-2, 206 pounds, and capable of using his speed and athleticism to stay in good position and make plays on the ball. He finished his TCU career with 88 tackles, 12 passes defended, two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
His signature moment was absolutely this past season, when he picked Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts off in the redzone and took it all the way back for a touchdown.

Scott joins fellow Horned Frog Ty Summers on the Pack, as Green Bay goes with a late round Frog for the second season in a row. Scott’s ability to play on special teams and in a few different spots defensively should give him an advantage as he tries to claim a roster spot. The Packers passing defense ranked 14th in the NFL in 2019, and adding Scott has the potential to be a good depth move for Green Bay.
Congrats, Vernon!!
