After a disappointing opener that saw the Frogs fall to Iowa State 37-34, TCU has to get up off of the mat and play a Texas team coming off of a road win. They’ll take on the Longhorns bright and early, too, as the matchup gets an 11:00 AM kickoff in the first road game of the season for the Frogs.
.@TCUFootball's game at Texas next Saturday will have an 11 a.m. kickoff and be televised on FOX with Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft on the call.— Mark Cohen (@TCUCohen) September 27, 2020
Texas opened their Big 12 season on the road at Texas Tech, and needed overtime to knock off the Red Raiders after scoring a touchdown and converting a two point conversation late.
Texas senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger led the 63-56 victory with five touchdowns and 262 yards through the air on 27-40 passing. The Horns’ defense was gashed by the Red Raiders, who accumulated 441 yards and completed 50% of their third down tries. That has to have Max Duggan and co fired up (assuming he’s named the starter, of course).
With Gus Johnson on the call anything is possible, and between these two teams it seems chaos reigns. The Frogs have dominated the series of late, including 2019’s contest in Fort Worth. But Texas got the win the last time the two tangled in Austin, and are likely to be favored next Saturday.
