Another week, another ball game, and as much as a “must-win” as the Frogs have faced this season. The Frogs O’ War staff is here to tell you how they think things are going to go and how we get there.

Be sure to chime in with your predictions in the comments!

TCU Football vs West Virginia

Name How many wins will TCU Football finish with in 2021? If you could add one player from a past TCU team to the 2021 roster that you think would be a difference-maker, who would you choose? The single biggest issue with this TCU Football team is: TCU and West Virginia have played some instant classics over the years, and Saturday's game could certainly be another one. Do you have a favorite WVU-TCU memory and what is it? With THT rumored to be out for at least a while, the most important player on the TCU defense is: The Frogs will cover the 5 point spread Saturday night What's your score prediction for the game and how do we get there?

Colin Post 7-8 Jason Verrett. There is no other answer. Communication and chemistry, especially defensively, are really lacking. This is easy. In 2015, Trevon Boykin juked out half the West Virginia defense for a first down then got a high five from WVU's HC, Dana Holgorsen. Ochaun Mathis TRUE TCU 31-14. This WVU offense is weak, and I think Ochaun and Co. will get to Doege to force a couple of turnovers and prevent them from moving the ball well. The Frogs keep humming on offense, and this game is, basically, over by early in the second half.
Christian Tjoa 5-6 Really tough to pick just one, but I’d say Davion Pierson. Shore up the defensive tackle spot and have a top tier leader who would get everyone fired up and playing with passion on the defensive side of the ball. The defense. Probably the last time we beat WVU in 2017, we had College Gameday on campus for that game and the entire student section sang Country Roads as the clock hit zero. Seems like an eternity ago. Khari Coleman FALSE This is a coin flip of a game. Neal Brown, like most new coaches in the B12, seems to have GP’s number even when WVU isn’t that good. Add in that they are coming off a bye week, and that could spell trouble for a program that is staring an inflection point right in the face. I have us ending up at 6-6, and we have to win this game to get there, so give me the Frogs in a tight one 38-35. Max continues his improvement and the Frogs O does just enough to counter another RB (Leddie Brown) having a career day against us. Lord help this team if we drop this one.
Russ Hodges 7-8 Jason Verrett. He and Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson together on the outside would be a pleasure to watch. TCU's CB2 situation this season has been a nightmare. Complacency. TCU has refused to roll the dice in critical situations and continues to be conservative, something that has begun to draw the ire of fans. The Horned Frogs need to start playing like they have nothing to lose as opposed to playing like they're afraid to lose. Jaden Oberkrom's walk-off field goal in Morgantown was one of my favorite games when I was in college. TJ Carter FALSE TCU 27, WVU 24
Ryan Bunnell 7-8 Jason Verrett Atrocious play in the secondary TCU's win in Morgantown in 2012, Gary's ballsy 2-pt conversion call in double OT is one of my all-time favorite moments since joining the Big 12. TJ Carter TRUE 37-31 TCU wins. Griffin Kell MVP
Anthony North 7-8 Jerry Hughes. There was a time when QBs knew they were going to feel pain when playing TCU rather than having an easy laid back day. Jerry would impact every play and make every other piece of the defense better. No reason to fear the defense - opposing Offensive Coordinators can draw up what they please, knowing there is a high likelihood of success with every play. The 2014 game is one of the most important and memorable games in program history. But my favorite is the 2012 game vs. the super hyped WVU team with Geno Smith and Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin. So many incredible moments in this one: Boykin bomb to Boyce from the 5 yard line to force OT; Jason Verrett’s Superman FG block to force 2OT; trickeration reverse pass from Brandon Carter in 2OT; and the classic Boyce 2-point conversion to win the game. The first big *moment* in the Big 12 and that often gets forgotten with the greatness of the later Boykin era. TJ Carter TRUE TCU wins 34-24. Frogs get a defensive or special teams TD and stop Leddie Brown on 4th and 1 to seal the win.
Melissa 5-6 A healthy Jason Verrett or Jerry Hughes Execution across the board. We either need to simplify the playbook or drill the hell out of the fundamentals. This isn't a talent problem, as far as I can tell. I think College Game Day coming to down in 2017... the game was insane but just experiencing that on TCU's campus was so special. I'll never forget that day. Or the signs. There were some good signs. Ochaun Mathis FALSE Frogs win 34-20 and get us all excited about a complete performance. Then lose to Baylor next week. (I hate myself)
