Ryan’s Ramble: Winner winner chicken dinner

Don’t ask me how I’m doing it (because I have no clue), but Ryan’s Ramble has now hit for FIVE consecutive winning weekends and the confidence levels are soaring to the moon.

Last weekend’s 7-4 record puts us at 49-38-2 on the year, good enough for a 56.3% win percentage. In other words, we’re in the green!

The fact that we are already halfway through the 2021 football season is mind boggling. It feels like just yesterday when I was recording the first ever podcast version of Ryan’ Ramble and discussing some future bets and picking award winners.

At this point in the year, I am extremely content with how this season’s picks have gone. One of the beauties of sports betting is that anything can drastically change at the drop of a hat, so I can never get too comfortable; I’m always on my toes.

Of course losing is a possibility, but am I even the slightest bit concerned for this week’s card? Absolutely not.

Before we dive into this week’s picks, first let’s take a step back to last weekend and see what we learned:

What we learned last week:

  • Cincinnati is so above and beyond the rest of the group of 5 it’s ridiculous
  • Iowa?...
  • Kentucky has some sort of fight in them
  • Even when Texas looks good, they find ways to lose
  • Knoxville is a lawless land
  • Caleb Williams is in fact that guy

For more context on each of these talking points, be sure to check out the full length episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube!

Half of what’s listed above is actual valuable realizations that could be applied when making picks in the future, but the other half, such as the chaos in Knoxville, is for the laughs.

Here’s to hoping the sports betting gods don’t smite me down this weekend for my recent overconfidence. Without further adieu, let’s make some picks:
