FORT WORTH - TCU baseball’s Austin Krob was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his performance against Baylor this past Saturday. The honor is the first of his career and the second for the Horned Frogs this season.

Krob did not allow a hit in the game until there were two outs in the seventh against Baylor. The lefty allowed just three total base runners in his career-high seven innings on the mound and did not allow a runner to reach third. He never faced more than four batters in an inning as he had a stretch of 10 straight retired from the fourth through seventh inning. TCU enters the week ranked as high as No. 11 both the Perfect Game and USA Today Coaches poll. The Horned Frogs have won five straight and are coming off a sweep of Baylor to open Big 12 Conference Play. Tuesday starts a string of eight straight road games for TCU. First up is a match-up at UT Arlington. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m.
