Las Vegas Raiders Tweet Controversy
Everyone has an opinion on the death of George Floyd at the hand of former Minneapolis Police Officer, Derek Chauvin. While the jury provided the family with justice and found Chauvin guilty on all three charges, stubborn people exist, and rage was bound to hit social media. That’s why when Las Vegas raiders owner, Mark Davis, sent out a tweet that day, the assumptions and criticism started rolling in.

At first read of this tweet I’m sitting here thinking ‘who has the audacity, especially as a public figure, to voice a horrible opinion like this?’ Hoping to find a lick of humanity left in the world I start researching and looking around for some sort of verification that he was in fact hacked and can’t find the delete button now.
Thankfully, I found something better. Davis explained that his tweet was a tribute to Floyd, adding on to a quote his brother gave. After the verdict was given, Philonise said “Today, we are able to breathe again.” Davis explained that the words spoke to him and moved him, and he wanted to emphasize how powerful of a statement it was. The owner also added that justice was served but there’s more work to be done.
If I were a Raiders fan, which I’m not, I would be extremely proud to know the organization is working towards equality in the world, league, and bettering themselves.
Trevor Lawrence and Marissa in the Jacksonville community
The recently married Trevor Lawrence and Marissa Mowry have already started to give back to the Jacksonville community. The Jacksonville Jaguars fanbase raised $11,000 dollars as a wedding gift for the couple to decide which charity to donate to. The Lawrence’s were thankful for the donation and said they will be donating $20,000 to multiple charities in Jacksonville.
Thank you @Jaguars fans. We really appreciate the wedding gifts and donations for charities of our choice! In addition to the donations, Marissa and I will also be donating $20K to charities in Jacksonville. Thanks again, we hope to be a part of your community soon

This generous contribution implies that even Trevor Lawrence is on board with being the first pick of the draft and heading to Jacksonville. The NFL Draft will take place on April 29th this year at 8pm.
