TCU finds itself in a time of uncertainty these days, staring down the impending death of the Big 12 and once again on the brink of searching for a new conference home.
It would be easy to get down about the circumstances, and for some athletic department employees it might even mean dusting off the resume. For TCU Athletic Director Jeremiah Donati, that doesn’t appear to be the case.
Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star Telegram reported Wednesday that ADJD recently declined an opportunity to interview for Missouri’s open AD position.
TCU athletic director turns down chance to interview for Missouri AD job, source says https://t.co/zlK0myTsw1— Drew Davison (@drewdavison) August 5, 2021
Donati has served as TCU’s AD since December 2017 after serving as Chris Del Conte’s right hand man since 2011. It’s important for TCU to maintain as much internal stability as possible right now, with so much uncertainty starting to swirl, so his decline to even interview for another AD opening has to be heartening for TCU fans.
Instead of job hunting, Donati seems to be focused on ensuring TCU finds a quality landing spot once the latest conference realignment chips fall where they may. It won’t be an easy task, but if he learned anything from his predecessor, I like the Frogs’ chances of landing on their feet.
