The TCU Football defense needs some help, as we saw Saturday afternoon — especially in the secondary. Well, that help may well be on the way, in the form of a top 100 prospect in the country and a top 15 cornerback overall.

On Sunday afternoon, the Under Armor All American announced he was committed to TCU.

Playing high school ball in Port Arthur, TX, the Memorial High School senior is one of the best defensive players in the country. The 6-foot, 170-pound Guilbeau is the nation’s No. 13 cornerback and No. 88 prospect overall according to 247 Sports, and is commit No. 10 in TCU’s 2022 recruiting cycle.

Guilbeau chose TCU over 20+ other offers, including Texas, Alabama, Georgia, and Oregon, saying that “TCU is home” and citing his great relationship Coach Modkins and Paul Gonzales and his excitement for playing with Coach Patterson as his defensive coach. He also has a strong relationship with Tre’vius Hodges Tomlinson, and told Steve Wiltfong of 247 “I feel like TCU is the best fit for me and I believe that I will achieve my goals at TCU.”

Guilbeau’s 7 on 7 coach believes that that he is a versatile, tough player that has a ton of potential. “He’s a very tough player,” Coach Ro Simon said. “I think his potential is really really high being in the right program. Obviously he’s going to TCU, they develop DBs at a rapid rate. He’s going to be a boundary corner. They put those type of DBs in the NFL and I believe he’s the highest-rated cornerback to potentially commit and sign with TCU in a long time. They usually recruit three-star guys and develop those guys so he’s the first All-American corner so that’s big deal for them. I believe when Coach Modkins gets his hands on him I think he’ll help Jaylon develop into a complete corner.”

Guilbeau joins Ja’dais Richard as 2022 commits in the secondary, and is the fourth defensive commit in the class.
