The 4-0 Horned Frogs are set to host their fifth straight game at the Schollmaier Arena against the 1-5 Alcorn State Braves, marking their first encounter since the 2020-21 season. TCU enters the matchup off its fourth straight win against the Mississippi State Valley Delta Devils, securing an 86-52 victory.
The Frogs were propelled to success by leading scorers Emanuel Miller and Jameer Nelson Jr. Miller contributed 13 points, four rebounds, five assists, one steal and two blocks, while Nelson added 13 points, one rebound, two assists and five steals.
Micah Peavy and Avery Anderson III also made significant contributions, each adding 12 points to the Frogs’ final score. TCU has dominated its first four games, boasting an average margin of victory of 30.5 points per game and outscoring its last two opponents by an average of 20.5 points in the second half.
On the other hand, the Braves are coming off their third consecutive loss, a tough defeat to the Michigan State Spartans with a final score of 81-49. Struggling to keep pace, the Braves were outscored by 30 points in the first half. Alcorn State’s last glimpse of hope came at the 17:09 mark in the first half, but Michigan State responded with a 13-0 run, seizing control for the remainder of the game.
Among the Braves, only two of the five starters managed to score in double figures. Jeremiah Gambrell, the shooting guard, led the team with 12 points and 2 rebounds, followed by forward Jeremiah Kemgall with 11 points and 8 rebounds.
