Volleyball: Three TCU players receive All-Big 12 honors

Melanie Parra was named to the First Team while Audrey Nalls and Jalyn Gibson were Second Team winners.


Three members of the TCU Horned Frog volleyball team earned All-Big 12 honors for their efforts on the hardwood this season. Outside hitter Melanie Parra received First Team honors unanimously, while outside hitters Audrey Nalls and Jalyn Gibson were each given Second Team recognition for the 2023 season. TCU finished the regular season with a 16-14 overall record and an 8-10 record in the Big 12, earning an NCAA Tournament berth.

Parra spearheaded the charge for the TCU offense this season, finishing with a team-high and a career-high 445 kills on the front line. Parra also scored a team-leading 45 service aces and led the Horned Frogs with 528 points for the season. Parra added 243 digs, which ranked fourth on the team, as well as 66 total blocks, which also ranked fourth on the team.

Nalls returned for the 2023 season after earning All-Big 12 First Team honors last season. The fifth-year senior finished with 320 kills, third-most on the team, while adding 23 service aces, also third-most on the team. Her 244 digs and 66 total blocks ranked tied for second and fourth on the Horned Frogs, respectively. Gibson ranked second on TCU with 337 kills and 24 service aces while tying for second in digs with 244. Her 67 blocks ranked third.
