Women’s Basketball: Role players shine as TCU dominates Prairie View

Victoria Flores and Aaliyah Roberson combined for 33 points as the Horned Frogs won 85-41 on Sunday.

Freshman Victoria Flores enjoyed her biggest showing of the 2023-24 season Sunday evening, when TCU remained undefeated and moved to 10-0 overall with a dominant 85-41 win over Prairie View. Flores scored a season-high 19 points off the bench for the Horned Frogs, finishing 8-for-10 from the free-throw line to help lead TCU to its 10th consecutive win to start the season. Sophomore Aaliyah Roberson also stepped up off the bench for the Horned Frogs, notching a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds on 5-of-7 shooting. TCU dominated Prairie View without Sedona Prince, who did not play on Sunday evening.

Starting forward Agnes Emma-Nnopu recorded 16 points and nine rebounds, while point guard Jaden Owens totaled nine points and eight assists for the Horned Frogs, who dished out 19 assists and dominated the glass, outrebounding Prairie View 54-38. Madison Conner overcame a tough shooting night, finishing 9-for-10 from the free-throw line to finish with 14 points and eight rebounds. TCU forced 14 turnovers and outscored Prairie View 23-5 on the fast break in the win. The Horned Frogs also scored 38 points off the bench in the victory. TCU clinched the win with a dominant second quarter, where they outscored Prairie View 21-7 to take a 38-19 lead at halftime. TCU outscored Prairie View 26-9 in the third quarter.
