TCU football made several headlines on Monday, with the Horned Frogs making a coaching change at defensive coordinator while also securing several new players for the 2024 team. One of those newcomers will be former San Diego State offensive lineman Cade Bennett, who announced his commitment to the Horned Frogs on social media Monday morning. Bennett was San Diego State’s Best Offensive Lineman award winner during the 2023 season and has been an All-Mountain West Conference Second Team honoree over each of the last two seasons. Bennett spent two seasons with the San Diego State team.
Bennett transferred to San Diego State after beginning his collegiate career at Oklahoma State, where he played two seasons before becoming a starting offensive guard for the Aztecs. A former three-star high school prospect from Scottsdale, Arizona, Bennett is the second offensive line transfer to commit to the Horned Frogs this offseason, following former Louisiana Tech offensive lineman Carson Bruno. TCU is set to lose four starters from its offensive line including Brandon Coleman, Andrew Coker, John Lanz and Willis Patrick.
