TCU football has lost two wide receivers to the transfer portal this offseason, with former four-star recruits Cordale Russell and D.J. Allen declaring their intentions to leave the team. The Horned Frogs gained their first transfer portal addition at the position on Monday, though, as former Notre Dame wide receiver Braylon James announced his commitment to the TCU football team on social media Monday afternoon. A former four-star recruit from the 2022 class, James appeared in four games during the 2023 season, catching one pass for 12 yards. The Round Rock, Texas native was high school teammates with Cam Cook.

The 6-foot-2, 202-pounder will join a wide receiver room that still features plenty of talent despite the losses of Russell and Allen as well as seniors Warren Thompson and Jaylon Robinson. Savion Williams declared his intentions to return for a fifth season, while TCU will also have J.P. Richardson and Dylan Wright in the fold. Former Alabama transfer JoJo Earle and former LSU transfer Jack Bech are two more wideouts that are set to return in 2024.
