TCU head coach Sonny Dykes teased in a social media on Friday that news could be coming for Horned Frog football fans. That news came through in the afternoon, with former Boise State wide receiver Eric McAlister revealing his commitment to the TCU football team in an Instagram post. The Azle, Texas native shined for the Broncos during the 2023 season, catching 47 passes for 873 yards and five touchdowns. McAlister spent three seasons with the Broncos, compiling 58 catches for 1,132 yards and nine touchdowns.

McAlister becomes the fifth transfer portal addition for the Horned Frogs, who’ve already secured commitments from San Diego State offensive lineman Cade Bennett as well as Louisiana Tech offensive lineman Carson Bruno. TCU also added a pair of former Notre Dame players in defensive lineman Nana Osafo-Mensah and wide receiver Braylon James. McAlister will join a returning wide receiving group for the Horned Frogs that includes Savion Williams as well as J.P. Richardson, Dylan Wright, JoJo Earle, Jack Bech and more.

McAlister was a high three-star recruit before signing with Boise State and redshirting during the 2021 season. The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder caught 11 balls for 259 yards and four touchdowns during the 2022 season before returning as a redshirt sophomore in 2023 and helping the Broncos to an 8-5 record. McAlister is the second Boise State acquisition this offseason for TCU, who brought in Andy Avalos to be the team’s new defensive coordinator.
