An enormous recruiting weekend continued for the TCU football team on Saturday, with former Baylor tight end Drake Dabney announcing his commitment to the Horned Frogs in a social media post. With First-Team All-Big 12 tight end Jared Wiley heading to the NFL, TCU gets a major reinforcement in Dabney, who recorded 33 catches for 552 yards and five touchdowns at Baylor during the 2023 season. Dabney spent four seasons with the Bears, totaling 65 receptions for 873 yards and eight touchdowns during that time period.

The 6-foot-5, 248-pounder from Cypress, Texas becomes the eighth addition to the 2024 roster through the transfer portal this offseason. Dabney also becomes the sixth addition on the offensive side of the ball for the Horned Frogs, who’ve already secured commitments from San Diego State offensive lineman Cade Bennett and Louisiana Tech offensive lineman Carson Bruno along with Notre Dame wide receiver Braylon James and Boise State wide receiver Eric McAlister. TCU now has the No. 6 ranked transfer class for 2024 by 247Sports.
