TCU Women’s Basketball closed its non-conference schedule in style, clinching the program’s longest winning streak with an un-beaten run ahead of Big 12 play with blowout victories over Omaha and Mount St. Mary’s to move to 13-0 on the season. The Horned Frogs received a collection of accolades for the performances of this week: Big 12 Player of the Week, National Team of the Week, and a continued improvement in the AP Poll.

TCU Center Sedona Prince was named the Big 12 Player of the Week for the second time this season, having previously received the honor for the week of November 27. In the Frogs’ two wins last week, Prince averaged 24 points, 16 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while shooting 70% from the field. For the season, Prince leads the conference in blocks and is second in rebounding and scoring on a per-game average. It’s a conference-leading third Player of the Week honor for the Horned Frogs, with the league’s leading scorer Madison Conner taking home the award for the week of November 13.

TCU was recognized this week by the US Basketball Writers Association as the National Team of the Week for the week of December 18-24 as the Horned Frogs took home two wins with an average margin of victory of 46.5 points. It was one of the most dominant two-game stretches in program history, with a Big-12 era record 59 total rebounds in the win over Omaha and the 34 points allowed to Mount Saint Mary’s is the seventh fewest allowed all-time at TCU. The wins gave TCU its first ever undefeated non-conference slate.

TCU also received continued recognition from the voters of the AP Top 25 Poll, after making its first entry into the Top 25 since February 2020, placing at No. 25 last week, TCU climbed two spots up to No. 23. The undefeated Horned Frogs received 73 ballot points, 63 points behind No. 22 Florida State and 15 points ahead of No. 24 North Carolina. The Big 12 placed five programs in the Top 25, with No. 5 Texas, No. 10 Baylor, No. 11 Kansas State, and No. 25 West Virginia joining the Frogs in the poll. In the NCAA NET ratings, used to guide the selection committee during bracket development, TCU ranks at No. 22 overall, with the entire Big 12 featured in the top 102 overall.

TCU will begin its Big 12 schedule on Saturday December 30 at 4:00 PM vs the BYU Cougars at Schollmaier Arena and broadcast on ESPN+, with $5 Holiday Hoops General Admission tickets still available via GoFrogs.com.
