The TCU football team lost another talented young player to the transfer portal on Tuesday, with news coming out on social media that defensive back and former four-star recruit Randon Fontenette has filed paperwork to leave the program after only one season. Fontenette was the No. 3 ranked recruit in the Class of 2023 for the Horned Frogs, who have already lost their No. 1 ranked recruit from the 2023 class, wide receiver Cordale Russell. Jamie Plunkett of Horned Frog Blitz first reported news of Fontenette’s departure.

Fontenette appeared in all 12 games for the Horned Frogs this season, totaling 16 tackles . The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder from Freeport, Texas is the fourth player from the 2023 class to leave the team, following linebacker Jonathan Bax, cornerback Mason White and Russell.
