TCU football secured commitments from three defensive backs in the transfer portal on Saturday including former Old Dominion cornerback LaMareon James. James spent three seasons with the Big Blue and enjoyed a strong 2023 season, recording 59 total tackles as well as nine passes defensed and two forced fumbles. The 5-foot-10, 187-pounder from Norfolk, Virginia totaled 87 tackles, eight passes defensed and two interceptions at ODU.

James was the second of three transfers to announce their pledges to the Horned Frogs on Saturday, following former New Mexico State cornerback Andre Seldon. James was a 2023 All-Sun Belt Honorable Mention and started all 13 games for the Big Blue, recovering four fumbles. James appeared in 38 games and working on special teams at Old Dominion, returning 58 kickoffs for 1,346 yards and two touchdowns. James was a three-star recruit in high school and will compete for a starting cornerback spot at TCU this coming season.
