TCU football lost another member of its historic 2023 recruiting class late last month, with reports indicating that former four-star prospect and freshman safety Javeon Wilcox has entered the transfer portal after only one season with the Horned Frogs. Wilcox was a top-10 recruit in the 2023 class for TCU, which has seen multiple players including former four-star prospects Cordale Russell and Randon Fontenette as well as JUCO prospect Mason White leave the team after one campaign. Wilcox hails from Temple, Texas and did not see game action during the 2023 season, where the Horned Frogs went 5-7 overall.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder competed at Lake Belton High School and was the No. 35 ranked safety recruit in the nation according to 247Sports. Wilcox was originally committed to Baylor, but flipped and signed with TCU over the Bears as well as Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Arkansas, UTSA and more.
