With the 2023-24 college football season nearing its conclusion, attention will soon shift to the showcase events including the 2024 Shrine Bowl and the 2024 Senior Bowl, where the top upperclassmen in the country will compete and earn the chance to be noticed with the 2024 NFL Draft scheduled for later this year. TCU will have several athletes participating in the postseason showcase events including senior linebacker Jamoi Hodge and senior lineman Rick D’Abreu, who have each accepted invitations to compete in the 2024 College Gridiron Showcase, an annual event hosted in Fort Worth. The event runs this weekend.
Hodge spent four seasons with the Horned Frogs after beginning his career at Independence Community College. The two-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention totaled 223 tackles and 18 tackles for loss along with 8.5 sacks, six passed defensed, one interception and one fumble recovery over 41 games in his career at TCU. Hodge eclipsed 80 total tackles over each of his last two seasons, helping the Horned Frogs reach the Big 12 Conference Championship and the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2022.
D’Abreu transferred to TCU after spending most of his collegiate career at East Carolina. The senior defensive lineman earned a rotation role with the Horned Frogs in 2023, finishing with 12 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss along with 0.5 sacks and one quarterback hurry. The 2024 College Gridiron Showcase features 135 scouts and attendance from all 32 NFL teams. The weekend-long event began on Friday, Jan. 5 and concludes on Sunday, Jan. 7.
