TCU Football took a hit to its transfer portal class when DB Donovan Saunders, who had committed in December and was part of TCU’s signing class announcement, backed out of joining the Horned Frogs, committing to Texas A&M on Friday. The Horned Frogs bounced back quickly however with another defensive back addition with Utah Utes Cornerback JaTravis Broughton announcing his commitment to TCU on social media on Sunday.

A Tulsa, Oklahoma native, Broughton joined the Utes as a member of the 2019 recruiting class as a three-star cornerback and top-ten player from the state per the 247 Composite rankings. He saw action in all 14 games as a true freshman, ultimately playing in 47 games across five seasons in Salt Lake City, including 22 starts over the last two seasons. For his career he has 126 total tackles, 1 interception, 11 pass break ups, and 1 sack.
Broughton is the 15th member of TCU’s 2024 transfer class and is the second member of the secondary, joining Tulsa safety Jaise Oliver. TCU will play vs Broughton’s former team when the Horned Frogs travel to Rice-Eccles Stadium in 2024.
